Exam Policy

Exams will be based on lecture materials and reading assignments. All students must take all exams at the scheduled times. All exam times will be specified on the syllabus on the first day of class. These times will not change barring any extenuating circumstance. Please plan accordingly.

Dropped Exam

In order to accommodate any emergency, conflict, etc. that may occur in your life, your lowest exam grade (from Exam #1 and Exam #2) will automatically be dropped. Therefore, if you miss one exam, the '0' for that exam will automatically be dropped before computing your grade. If you take all of the exams in the course, the lowest grade will automatically be dropped before computing your grade.

If you must miss a second exam for any (illness, job requirement, sports, etc.) reason, you will receive a grade of '0' for the missed exam, which will be included in your final grade computation. You will not have met the requirements for the course, and therefore, should drop the course.

It is strongly recommended that you take all of the exams in the course. If you miss an early exam and then must miss a later exam due to illness, job requirement, sports, etc., you will earn a grade of '0' for the second missed exam.

No make-up exam will be given for Exam #1 and Exam #2.

All students MUST take the final exam. If you miss the final exam, you must schedule and take a make-up exam within one week of the originally scheduled exam date. Final exam grades will NOT be dropped.
