Dr. John Sutherland
Professor of Information
Systems, has been at VCU since 1980 having
previously served as Dean of the Stillman Graduate
School of Business at Seton Hall University and as
Chairman of the Department of Administrative
Science at Southern Illinois University. He has
authored six major books dealing with the
management, information and decision sciences, and
has published dozens of papers in the top
international academic journals in these fields. Dr.
Sutherland has served as technical consultant to
several national governments (and several branches
of the US government) and to many commercial
firms, particularly those with requirements for
advanced information processing and management
support technologies.
